Introducing our authors
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be rolling out The Elliott-Hart Report. For now we’d like to introduce the first of our writers and editors, Dennis Hart.
Dennis has nearly 40 years experience in broadcast journalism. He has been a reporter, producer, executive producer, assignment manager, assistant news director and news director.
He has worked at KFSN-TV and KSEE-TV in Fresno, KPNX-TV in Phoenix, WKBW-TV in Buffalo, WJBK-TV in Detroit, KPIX-TV in San Francisco and KNBC-TV in Los Angeles.
In addition, he has worked at KMJ Radio in Fresno.
Dennis has covered presidential elections, national political conventions, city halls, police and sheriff’s departments and county boards of supervisors. He covered the 1989 San Francisco earthquake and the 1976 Chowchilla school bus kidnapping.
He has received an Emmy award, along with awards from the the Radio-TV News Directors Association, the San Francisco Press Club, the Associated Press and United Press International.
Dennis also has taught journalism at Iowa State University in Ames, at Cal State Northridge and at Fresno State.
He has written two books: – “Monitor: The Last Great Radio Show” and “Monitor: Take Two.” He has written numerous magazine articles and newspaper columns. He currently is doing daily political commentaries on KGED AM-1680 in Fresno and appears on Fresno television talk shows.
Dennis graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and a master of arts degree in mass communication.
